Good news is that those issues with the 1.5 engine appear to have been resolved - we've not head any reports from owners of late and having driven several 1.5 TSI models ourselves, have not experienced any issues first hand either. First we are going to discuss the engine specs of the 2.0 engine, then we are going to look at which applications this engine was included in and also the VW 2.0
Theengine required high-quality fuel (95 RON ultra-low sulfur unleaded petrol (ULSP)) and engine oil. The engine reliability also depends on the driving style of owners and how timely maintenance was. The average lifespan of the 1.2 TSI engine is 150,000 miles (250,000 km). Modifications
Id suggest a non-turbo Toyota or a Nissan. They may be "boring" vehicles, but they will likely be more reliable long-term than a rather technically-complex 1.4 TSI VW. If you want a VW, buy one with a diesel engine and a manual gearbox. I had a drive yesterday in a friends Tiguan 2.0 TDI.
TheAtlas can go from zero to 60 mph in 8.7 seconds. It gets 13 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles on the highway. Overall, the Volkswagen Atlas can hold its own regarding comfort, spaciousness, and ease of handling. It struggles with fuel economy, and unfortunately, it lacks reliability in many areas.
The2.0t in the 2007 gets a timing belt change at 105k, along with a water pump. $800-1000 at an indy or dealership. Transmission should get a fluid change. $200-ish every 40k miles. Unless you are getting it for $5k or its got a *stack* of service records, walk away. M. MK3matters Discussion starter.
